Insights From The People Who Are Shaping The Future.
The Futurist Trends & Data You
Need
To Get a Jump On The Future
The Summit really does give projections and trend analyses that aviation professionals can immediately put to strategic planning use. Independent perspectives that step way beyond government forecasts and the parrot-talk Wall Street passes off as advice.
Three key forecast sessions at the Summit:
Global & US Aviation
Trend & Strategy Forecasts
Airlines are changing how the operate. Get ready for the sweeping
changes that global alliances will bring not only to Paris and Rome, but
to Lincoln and Bangor, too. We'll be covering "joint business
agreements," capacity-pooling, mergers, and consolidation.
There are
going to be huge challenges and huge opportunities for all of aviation,
from suppliers, to financial institutions, to labor, to airports of all
sizes.
Why You Should Be There: We'd point out that it has been this session at prior Summits that has first illuminated trends and dynamics that have affected aviation. Last year, we forecast that airline global alliances would be a key factor in domestic air serice decisions. Today, it's finally been noticed and tt's being "forecast" by others. Another clear trend we outlined at the 2008 Summit was that as far as air traffic control improvements were concerned, the FAA wasn't going to produce, and airlines would be taking more direct control of their producion lines. It's happening now.
Global
Fleet Demand & Trend Forecast
Fleet demand in the future will not be the result of a need for "seat
category" aircraft, but instead
"mission category" airliners - new
technologies (such as the GTF engine) and shifting economics mean that
airliner demand patterns won't follow past trends. Boyd Group International is the leader in
providing cutting-edge aircraft demand forecasts. We were the first to
predict the market and the demand for "regional jets" - and we were the
first to outline the demand dynamics and the limits to the market role
of this category.
Why You Should Be There: The Boyd Group International Global Fleet Demand & Trend forecast is more accurate becasue it discards the tradiional linear growth and linear fleet replacement assumptions. Technology, economics, regulation, and airline strategies drive fleet demand, and that means new fleet mixes. We were the first to forecast the huge demand for RJs , amd later to forecast the staturation of demand for thoes aircraft. In both instances, "consensus" forecast sources strongly disagreed.
US Airport Enplanements
2011 - 2015
We'll be discussing the trends that will
result in growth or decline in all regions of the nation. These do not
blindly mirror government forecasts, but are the product of independent
analyses of the demographic and airline trends at each of 146 airports.

NEW THIS YEAR: Forecasts of key Trans-border US/Canadian traffic. For
gateway airports in Canada, this independent review will be highly
valuable.
Why You Should Be There: This is the only forecast accomplished independently in the private sector, without any second agendas or outside intervention. The result are airport-by-airport projections that are far more accurate than any other source. We're going to be reviewing the core trends in each region - and they're very different that FAA or other forecast sources. More accurate, too.

Discussions With Industry Leaders
The Summit format is mostly around probing and insightful discussions with key leaders in aviation. You get real information - not supposition - not only from Boyd Group International's professional forecasts, but also from key leaders in aviation. We ask hard questions. And hard follow-up questions. And so can attendees. Death by PowerPoint is not on the agenda. Here are some of the presenters...

Global alliances are the future - they allow
carriers to provide global consumers with global air access, seamlessly
and efficiently. It's important that airports from Bloomington to Beijing
understand how this emerging dynamic will affect them. Manufacturers,
suppliers and financial institutions will need to change how they approach
business. The "KSSA" approach to aircraft orders seen in the 1970s will
likely be the new norm to doing business in all areas with the airline
industry. This is a not-to-miss session for anyone in the industry that
wants to take advantage of the new aviation future.
The New Airline Structure
SkyWest
Chip Childs – President
The entire structure of what 20 years ago was
the "regional airline industry" has evolved into much more critical part
of the air transportation system. Now, the global glut of 50-seat jets,
new airline economics, consolidation and alliances are actually opening
new opportunities to this sector of the industry - both in the US as well
as in the rest of the world.

Boeing's View Of Global Airliner Demand
Richard Wynne -
Director Geopolitical and
Policy Analysis
The 787 will be well along its way to the commercial airline skies by the
time of the Summit. What does Boeing see as the next step? How does it
view the future of airliner demand? Is the Bombardier C-Series an impetus
to additional single-aisle platform development?
Airbus View Of The Global Airliner Market
Lynda Paulson – Airline Marketing Director
The Global Airline Industry
ICAO
Narjess Teyssier – Chief Economic Analyst
There are material differences in the dynamics that
affect US carriers and those in the rest of the world. One is that most
carriers do not enjoy a large domestic market to support international
operations. Another is legacies of government ownership at may carriers.
The emergence of global alliances will change the relationships between
national carriers.

Additional presenters will be announced shortly. Attendees at Boyd Group International
Forecast Summits leave the event armed with vision and insight that better prepares them
for the future. At this year's Summit, that will be the case as well. In the meantime,
we'd suggest you clear your calendar for October 24-26. This is also
a must-attend for people in the travel industry who may want to learn more about the new
emerging dynamics of the industry.

Outside of a multi-level marketing convention, it's rare to see so many people so blindly fired up over a new miracle product. This time it's not soap, but a country - Cuba.
