Fleet Demand: New Methodologies
Boyd Group International is the leading independent source for airliner demand forecasts. Over the past 20 years, in addition to publishing the Global Fleet Demand & Trend Forecast, we have assisted aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, OEMs and financial institutions in a range of aircraft demand projects.
This expertise extends to assisting aircraft manufacturers in accomplishing new-platform feasibility analyses. This included assisting Embraer in determining the global market potential for sub-50 seat regional jets, as well as the market demand feasibility for next-generation small mainline airliners, a project that eventually resulting the successful E-170/190 platform.
It was Boyd Group International that was the first independent firm to review and publish data regarding the potential for the 50-seat regional jet. That was back in 1989. Contrary to the mainstream thinking at the time, we correctly forecast that this was not just another 50-seat airliner, but one that represented an entirely new set of mission applications. Other traditional forecast sources looked only at existing applications and existing cost metrics for similar-sized turboprops and, predictably missed the mark completely.
Boyd Group International fleet forecasts are updated throughout the year, based on known and expected airline decisions, strategies and events, as well as decisions made by manufacturers themselves. The result is a source that is entirely impartial and accurate.
We accomplish specific forecasts for manufacturers, suppliers, and financial institutions. Give us a call and we can outline how a Boyd Group International forecast can assist in your planning efforts.
