If You're Planning For
The Future, You Need More Than Just Data.
You Need
Analytical FirePower
There are lots of sources for aviation data. But only one designed to deliver the range of industry metrics and trend reports that meet the challenges of the aviation industry iof the 21st century. Raw DOT/BTS data is sourced via mechanisms that fit the 1970s, but, without professional review and integrity checks can be dangerous to rely upon.
DataMiner is not just another information source. It is a
powerful tool that allows you to
identify and isolate key trends in the industry. Shifts in
capacity, market share, revenue shares, and much more. Unlike
other sources - many of which shamefully just regurgitate raw
DOT numbers, DataMiner
was
designed from the start to provide immediate insight, knowledge
and competitive intelligence in every report.
Aviation
DataMiner™
is the new standard for strategic aviation planning. It's the
only source that not only provides data, but allows you to
immediately analyze the information right on the screen, with
easy-to-read downloadable reports.
Subscribing to Another Data Source?
Why You Should Switch To DataMiner™
Aviation Dataminer™
is far more sophisticated, accurate, and easier to use than any
other data source. It's a tool designed by aviation
professionals for aviation professionals, providing
immediate reports that give you the insight you need instantly,
instead of arcane numbers derived from raw data sources.
DataMiner is live and updated constantly. DataMiner subscribers
can immediately analyze the data, putting it to competitive
advantage in planning for the future. And, probably for a lot
less money, too.
-
Delivers Data Fast & With Ease.
Our interface is intuitive and easy to use. Your time is
important. So Aviation DataMiner is designed with that in
mind. You need data, not complex and confusing report
request schemes.
-
Complete, Formatted Reports.
The reports are formatted and include a range of data you
can use immediately. This is an important feature of
DataMiner - we give a range of metrics right away - you
don't need to load it into a spread sheet to waste time
finding out what the data mean.
-
Immediate Data & Strategic Information.
DataMiner goes beyond numbers, with the capability of
analyzing the future right on your screen. Not arcane
spreadsheets that display confused columns of jumbled
numbers, but immediate reports providing all the information
you need, with headers and key columns you can sort right
away on the screen, plus download to a range of other
software. That's the analytical firepower you need to
plan for the new aviation environment.
-
It's Integrity-Filtered.
The DataMiner software reviews each line of data for
accuracy and reasonableness. The way DOT gets the data often
has a lot of mis-reported numbers that require aviation
professionals to review.
-
It's Our Professional Work- Not Somebody Else's.
Amazingly, some alternative sources of aviation data are
simply re-packaged and re-sold as-is from another vendor.
Aviation DataMiner is better, because we first-source
the data. We take the data and put them through the
Aviation DataMiner Software, which identifies and
addresses the "issues" that come with raw data. We carefully
review the data for errors and mis-reporting. We make
corrections and identify where data may be questionable.
Professionals of Boyd Group International are experts in
current and emerging airline industry trends.
-
It Addresses The Real Airline Industry.
The Aviation DataMiner software relies on a complex
algorithm to aggregate traffic to the correct carrier
system. Other sources assume the "certificated carrier" is
the airline. It's not. Today, most airlines are typically
comprised of combinations of "certificated carriers." To
report the passengers carried at ATL by, say, Mesa, is
inaccurate. Those are passengers of Delta, the airline that
is leasing the lift from Mesa. Some other sources either
mis-report it as Mesa, or, worse, lazily dump these
passengers into separate, unidentified catch-all category.
The DataMiner system, on the other hand, properly applies
these passengers to the airline system leasing the airplane
from the small jet provider.
-
It Identifies Reporting Errors.
It identifies mis-reported data - and there's a lot more of
that than most people realize. Raw data, which other sources
typically just regurgitate and sell, may show Hawaiian
Airlines as an operator at Jackson, Mississippi. Or US
Airways as serving Amarillo. DataMiner addresses these
issues.
-
It Addresses The Challenges of The Hub System.
DataMiner recognizes the shortfalls in current reporting
channels. In many cases, traffic generated by small airports
served by small airlines (some code-shared, some not) is not
accurately allocated to the proper connecting destinations.
As a result, Cheyenne may show close-by Denver as its #1 O&D
destination, when in fact there really is almost no such
traffic. DataMiner's sophisticated software identifies such
cases and makes adjustments.
-
Sophisticated O&D Reconciliation.
The raw DB1B data are not entirely accurate and must be
reconciled against other sources to assure accurate
destinational distribution at hubsite airports. Some other
sources attempt this. Others don't even try. DataMiner is
far more sophisticated than any other source. One sign of
really sloppy data: any vendor peddling O&D tables from a
mid-size or larger airport where all the passenger numbers
all end in zero. It's likely they just took the 10% DOT
sample data and foisted it off on unwary purchasers, with
out any reconciliation.
-
Kept Up-To-Date.
Aviation DataMiner is kept current. When DOT issues a
revision to prior quarters - which is not uncommon - our
subscribers have it right away. Other vendors, even some
on-line, and particularly those peddling static printed
reports, are oblivious to this. And so are their customers.
The staff of Boyd Group International invite you to review the
example reports listed above. And don't hesitate to access the
complimentary current airport data available at
www.AirportSnapshot.com.
Bottom Line: If you're planning for the future, you can't rely
on semi-accurate or unreliable data sources. You need Aviation
DataMiner™. No other source of industry data is as complete, as
accurate, or as easy to use.
How DataMiner Gives The Competitive Edge
Aviation DataMiner™
is designed to be customized to the specific subscriber.
Financial institutions. Airlines. Airports. Manufacturers.
Suppliers. All have varying data needs – and Airports:USA
provides them precisely and cost-effectively.
-
Airlines and financial planners can isolate where
revenue
production is weak or below cost-hurdle – for all airlines
in the market.
-
Users can access data by market, by airport, by airline, by
time frame. The data reports are immediately sortable right
on the screen, and can also be downloaded for further
analysis.
-
Analyze airline financials and operating metrics. Get direct
comparisons of costs by category, by fleet type, adjusted by
stage length. Want to compare United's A-320 costs with
those of US Airways? It's on the screen in seconds with
DataMiner.
-
Want to know the fare trends in the top 25 markets from a
given airport? Easy to do with DataMiner. Which airlines are
capturing that traffic, and over which connecting hubs? And
at what fares? It’s immediately available right on the
screen. Which airport in a given region is capturing more
traffic to specific destinations? There’s a report that will
immediately compare up to four airports, right on the
screen.
-
DataMiner is an essential tool to identify traffic trends
and airline service weaknesses. Compare through-yields
generated from a specific airport through a specific hub.
The relative vulnerability of one airline or another’s
service at the airport can be easily identified.
-
International data is also available. The Boyd Group will
assist in obtaining the approvals from the DOT for qualified
subscribers.
