When The Future Is Your Goal
We're Boyd Group International, the consulting and research firm that's been setting new standards for the past 25 years. That's because we don't run with the pack - we're ahead of it, and so are our clients.
Our forecasts, trend analyses, and open positions in the forum of aviation issues have set us apart from other consultants. Aviation clients from all areas have found our approach to represent a refreshing difference from the herd mentality that too often permeates the consulting industry.
We find new trends and identify new solutions for our clients because we're not afraid to state things as they are, regardless of political correctness or "ambient thinking."
The Truth. Even If It's Not Popular. Boyd Group International strives constantly to expand the forum of aviation research and discussion. While all consultants may claim to "tell it like it is" - the difference is that Boyd Group International has the track record, independent studies, and media coverage to prove it.
It's a fact that this makes some potential clients uncomfortable. Having a high profile in the industry, as they say on the battlefield, draws fire. Daring to question the status quo can annoy some sectors of the industry. And this does sometimes result in projects going to other consultants who prefer never to state any opinions, never to speak out on important issues, or ever rock the collective boat. That's fine. If a client cannot or does not want to hear the hard truth, there are plenty of other firms who will accommodate them.
The ethical standards we hold are absolute, and are not just words. Our clients will vouch for them::
Facts and truth are
absolute. They are not a matter of consensus opinion.
No amount of research,
studies, or other effort will change them.
Regardless of how widely a belief may be held, how broadly it may be believed, who is involved, or what the consequences may be, the truth cannot be ignored by a consultant to please a client, to expand a project, or to simply avoid the risk of criticism for daring to speak out. To do so is wholly unethical.
When We Say We're Independent, We Mean It. Our #1 mission is to assist our clients in finding competitive solutions. As a result, Boyd Group International, does not belong to consultant "associations" or "councils" or other such organizations.
While we certainly respect many of our colleagues in the aviation consulting business, our goal is to be better than the competition, not have cocktails with them at annual conventions. Furthermore, we outright refuse to associate with consultant groups whose values stoop to giving sycophant awards fto government officials who haven't earned them. We believe government must be held responsible, not held on a pedestal. Values and standards matter.
Futurist Knowledge = New Opportunities. Aviation has always operated in turbulence. And today's enormous economic uncertainty is no different. Historically, these are actually times when aviation players - airports, airlines, suppliers, manufacturers and financial institutions - face their greatest opportunities.
Those that adjust, adapt, and implement innovative strategies can move quickly and decisively, taking advantage of changes in the competitive landscape.
It is these types of clients that rely on Boyd Group International for the professional assistance, cutting-edge forecasts, and innovative strategies that turn uncertainty into certainty. That's our competitive edge.
It's not about years in business - although we've been here for a quarter of a century. It's not about sheer size of the firm. It's about the ability to accurately identify emerging trends, and translate them into new market opportunities. That's what set Boyd Group International apart. We don't run with the pack. We really don't care whatsoever what the "consensus" believes. Instead, we take a futurist view to consulting and aviation research, and we know that ignoring what "everybody knows" is exactly the reason our clients stay ahead of "everybody."
Our cutting-edge databases, and our reputation for innovative and sometimes iconoclastic solutions have kept our clients ahead since 1984.
We've assisted airlines of all sizes in defining key strategic and tactical planning, including route planning, market entry, and fleet determinations.
Airports throughout the nation have turned to Boyd Group International for assistance in air service development, strategic planning, and competitive re-framing. No consulting firm is more successful than we are in crafting aggressive programs that help airports clearly identify future opportunities.
Aviation suppliers, including global aircraft manufacturers, powerplant designers, and other related firms have turned to Boyd Group International for its cutting-edge forecasts and trend analyses. Because we don't run with the crowd, we have no hesitation to present new ideas and new concepts that look way over existing beliefs and into the future. We were the first consulting firm to forecast the success of "regional" jets, years before they came off the production line. We were the first to forecast the decline of turboprop airliner demand, and had no compunctions in telling our aircraft manufacturer clients of our findings. These are just examples of how we follow the future, not accepted thinking.
Financial institutions frequently turn to Boyd Group International for insight and advice on emerging trends in aviation. A growing part of our practice is providing banks, investment houses, and hedge funds with immediate and effective advice on emerging aviation trends and events.
We are proud of the scope and depth of the assistance we have provided to our clients since our founding in 1984. Below is a representative list.
This is only a representative list. Note that all of the distinguished firms and organizations listed below called upon Boyd Group International for a range of consulting, research, and forecasting projects. Unlike some other consultants, we do not list as "clients" any firms that may have merely worked with one of our principals before coming to Boyd Group International. Taking credit for work done by other firms is unethical.
